John finds home
14 May 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

As this episode begins it looks as if all Crichton's prayers have been answered; Moya has come across a wormhole and a planet can be seen thought it: Earth! With only a limited amount of time before it destabilises he quickly says his good byes before setting off in the Farscape module. He lands on a beach in Australia but doesn't get the reception he'd expected; he is tranquilised and taken into custody by suspicious military personal who tell him the worm hole has been there since he left and the governments of Earth have been worrying about what might come through next. What does come through is one of Moya's pods; it is carrying Aeryn, D'Argo and Rygel; not surprisingly they are met with great suspicion. Rygel starts to get ill and the next thing Crichton knows he is having an autopsy performed on him; they tell Crichton that Rygel died but he doesn't believe it and knows it is only a matter of time before Aeryn and D'Argo meet the same fate. After D'Argo is taken away Aeryn overpowers one of the guards; now Crichton will have to decide whose side he is on; his friends or humanity.

When this episode started I expected it to be a weaker outing; after all we can guess something must happen to stop Crichton staying on Earth or it would be a very short series! Thankfully though the way he is kept with Moya and her crew involved a good twist which I hadn't seen coming. It came as quite a shock when Rygel died... whether the twist means he isn't dead or whether he was killed off to make room for Chiana I won't spoil; you'll just have to watch the episode! Guest star Kent McCord does a decent job as Crichton's father and the regular cast perform well as expected; especially Claudia Black as Aeryn... it seemed strange seeing her in a dress rather than her Peacekeeper uniform though! Over all this is a good stand alone episode that might not be action packed but has a good story, has some good tense moments and a nice twist at the end.
