Watching these new 1984 episodes are good but also torture. i am so happy there is no more Tattoo and love Mr Belvedere as Lawrence. Here's a hint to the producers (sorry i was only 7 or 8 at the time so this is fruitless) but "utilize Mr. Belvedere, Utilize Mr. Belevedere, Utilize Mr. Belvedere".. he was great in one part, he goes to talk to the two lovers to give them a letter, it was like a telegraph but called something else, i forget, but he has dialouge with the guy and then gives the lady a death glare for whatever reason. i really really like his character. So much better than that other show i remember him as a kid where he grew a mustache and played a butler for Bob Ueker. (I remember being a kid at my grandparents being baby sat and looking at the TV guide and being all excited about that day being the premiere of the show cause of an article i read in the paper. (yes i read the paper as a kid and yes, they had a raving article about the Mr. Belvedere pilot).
anyhow both story arcs were about love. blah. one was an old pilot who wanted to fly one more time but they didn't sell me it was important to him, just , "hey I'm on fantasy island, lets fly a weird hobby type plane with these people, oh look there's a chic i used to know who models for the plane i will test fly, hope my GF doesn't mind lol".
the other one was a business woman who never put out to get a job but changes her mind but the guys a loser but then he s not and then they decide that they love each other so much she will do her dream job in Hawaii till she is sick of it and goes to NYC to have kids with him where he works. and all will be happy. its pretty stupid if you ask me.
Utilize Mr Belvedere, Utilize Mr Belevedere. i have this funny feeling writing his name is what has caused 3 of my reviews to be unpublishable due to "banned words" . wish me luck.
