Big Ragoo says hello
7 May 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

It was cool seeing Eddie Mekka in a rare appearance other than Laverne & Shirley, and his cool character was named Johnny Detroit, who was to murder David Doyle's character Fred Forbush, as the latter felt that if he was murdered, his wife and kids would inherit $500,000 after his death. After receiving good news back home, he changes his mind and wishes to live, and he dresses in drag as a woman to fool Johnny in one scene; let me say this scene was rather unsettling to watch, as Forbush makes an ugly woman. You may or may not recognize Constance Towers as Shirley Forbush, Kaye Ballard, and those with a real good eye might notice Ronnie Scribner(Salem's Lot, 1979)as Greg Forbush. The ending was a slightly unexpected surprise, and that's usually a good thing. The other segment has Eve Plumb and Peter Graves in a story about a former swimmer paralyzed in an accident, as she's on the island trying to get good news about her condition. Keep a close eye on Bobby, who's played by Marc Gilpin, and you might remember him as Sean Brody from Jaws 2. There's a very sad moment when all the handicapped children do a routine in the pool, as Tattoo and Mr. Roarke are watching; Tattoo starts tearing up while he holds Roarke's hand, and then wipes his eyes. I'm not certain if these are real tears, but it wouldn't surprise me if it hit home with him. You'll need tissues for this segment.
