Trivia

This episode appears to recycle costumes from the Mata Hari episode in January 1982 during Andre's coming home party. Particularly the French soldiers uniforms that are grey with their distinctive tall red hats. See more »

Night Gallery meets Fantasy Island
14 September 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

If you're a fan of the show Night Gallery, you'll notice Joanna Pettet, who was a veteran of that series. If you pay close attention, maybe you'll even notice that she starred in a 1972 episode called "The Girl with the Hungry Eyes"; in that episode, she played a woman in a photograph with evil eyes. In this episode of Fantasy Island(1982), she lays a woman who was painted by none other than Paul Gauguin, played by Robert Goulet. Other than having her character on canvas for both episodes, that was about the only similarity. The other old faces include Erin Gray, Dane Clark, Monte Markham, Larry Manetti, and Christopher Stone. Out of all the characters, I feel that Manetti and Stone stole the show as 2 miserable dudes, although Markham wasn't too bad either. Both stories were decent, nothing exceptional, but not the worst of the bunch. Give it a shot, you might dig this episode.
