When the journeyers are drawn into a red cloud storm, the guys become separated from Liana. They end up in the swamp, while she is propelled to the city.

The guys are taken by the swamp-dwellers, green skinned humanoids, as their leader is ill.

Liana has meanwhile found the city dwellers to be very friendly, all following the guidance and orders of a man called Willoway (McDowell).

Turns out the inhabitants are all robots following Willoway's orders.

One of the robots falls in love with LIana, much to Willoway's chagrin.

The green-skinned people gain entry to the village and the rebellious robot destroys their control room to prevent Willoway from causing LIana any harm.

The swampies cast Willoway out of the city. There he is found by the travelers and he joins up with them. Varian is from the future and knows Willoway is a highly respected man who would never hurt them.

It all rather resembles K9 and before that, Jamie, on the English Doctor Who series joining up, with the possible option to not become regulars on the show.

There may have been a decision to simply leave Willoway in the swamp, perhaps swearing his revenge upon the travelers to return in a future episode.

Thankfully, that didn't happen and he became one of the group. Wonderful.
