During one of his visits Peter's father, Francis, discovers that Stewie has never been baptized, so without Lois' permission Peter and Francis go to church and have him baptized. Upon discovering this, Lois convinces Peter that Stewie should have been able to worship whomever he wanted regardless of his father's religion. Naturally Peter interprets Lois' wisdom the wrong way so decides to start his own religious group that praises the television character, Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli. Written by Bukue_One

Did You Know?

The voice of Bruce the performance artist is used for Jaws the shark in one scene. When filming Jaws (1975), Steven Spielberg nicknamed the animatronic shark "Bruce." Whether this is a deliberate joke on the part of the Family Guy crew or a total coincidence is unknown. See more »

Though Francis performs the symbolic actions of Baptism correctly, the Baptism itself is not valid under current canon law. In order for a non-ordained person to deliver the sacrament, the receiver must be in imminent danger of death and a minister must not be present, of which neither conditions are satisfied. However, this error could likely have been done on purpose to show the irony that a devout Catholic such as Francis does not fully understand Baptism himself. See more »

Not funny
19 January 2007 | by See all my reviews

I didn't laugh once during this episode. I love the first 2 seasons but this one has just gone down the crapper. Now the writers are more concerned with trying to offend as many people as possible (although biased - there are countless slams against Republicans, conservatives, Bush, and religion). In the first 2 seasons it was more than tolerable because it was funny. It seems the writers now have a political agenda and are just trying to enforce their views on everyone. In this episode we get to watch Brian (as the moral compass) comment on religion as simply sheep doing whatever someone tells them to do, and how religious people are weak-minded that the evil take advantage of and exploit. Perhaps the writers are making fun of Brian and his pseudo- intellectualism, but more often than not these lines seem forced and thrown in, as if the writers just wanted their opinion to be heard. It takes you out of the episode and just feels awkward.

I watch Family Guy to laugh, not to be told what the writers think is right or wrong. Please go back to doing what you do best, which is being funny.
