Storyline

Fed up with constantly being embarrassed by her father's behavior, Meg decides to turn the tables by getting them ambushed by a trashy shock-talk TV show. After the show, a TV producer makes the family an offer to set up cameras in their house and create a reality show around their home. The experience is interesting for them at first, but eventually they all want out of the project. Written by Jean-Marc Rocher <rocher@fiberbit.net>

One of the best episodes from season 2
29 June 2011 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

In "15 Minutes of Shame", Meg is hosting a slumber party with her friends, only to be embarrassed by her family who drive her friends away before morning. Her plan to get back at them backfires however, when she gets them onto a talk show where Peter flips out and a reality show presenter offers Peter a contract to have the family under camera surveillance for six months for a reality TV series. Peter of course signs the contract without even consulting Lois or the rest of the family about it first. The show, entitled "The Griffins", becomes extremely popular, and when Meg has had enough and quits, the show replaces her with a more attractive and popular blond character that gets the shows ratings up. It isn't long before the rest of the family begins to get enough of this too...

"15 Minutes of Shame" is one of the best episodes from the superb season 2 of "Family Guy". It's incredible to think that the show is still going now, entering into its 11th season. Something I don't think Seth MacFarlene would have even dreamed off back in 1999 and over the next few turbulent years that followed when ratings for the show dropped significantly causing the show to be cancelled a few times. A brilliant episode from a series that included the equally and even better episodes "Da Boom", "Love Thy Trophy", "Death is a Bitch", "Let's Go to the Hop" and "Wasted Talent".
