Well, at least she's not 100% evil!

"The Prey" begins with a robber sneaking into an old man's house to steal his coin collection. The old guy confronts him...and then falls to the couch, as he's apparently had a coronary or something similar. The robber (Steve Ihnat) considers this a blessing, as he assumes the guy is dying and therefore he cannot identify him! Nice guy, huh?

When Inspector Erskine heads to the hospital, the victim is still alive and he's able to give the FBI some clues. What the old guy didn't know is that he also pointed to a possible inside person who set him up to be robbed...his beloved caretaker!

The story picks up in another state. The lady who is working with the robber has just entered the home of another old person...with the goal of, once again, robbing them eventually. However, this case is somehow a bit different...and how it ends was rather surprising.

Overall, this is a very good episode. Much of it was because of the performances by the guest stars, Joanna Moore and Mildred Dunnock. They were really good together...and Ihnat was his usual menacing and professional actor. Well worth seeing and a very interesting story.

Not a bad 5th season contribution

Warning: Spoilers
This wasn't the most "exciting" episode......but then again it was more than a serviceable entry. Especially with the likes of Steve Ihnat and Joanna Moore as the villains.

It is a pity that Ihnat didn't have more to do in this episode. However, I especially liked him when he impersonated Mildred Dunnock's investment counsellor. That was priceless.

But this really was Joanna Moore's episode. She did a great job as the nurse who would soften up the elderly person: kill them with kindness, and then let Ihnat move in for the theft of valuable personal items. What cads!

Mildred Dunnock was excellent in her role as the feisty old woman.

And another F.B.I veteran director, Jesse Hibbs, did a fine job.
