Stuart Whitman is really good...the writing isn't quite as good.

Stuart Whitman stars as Wesley Ziegler, a really awful conman whose specialty is bilking rich lonely women from their gems. And, apparently, he's also not above murder if a woman crosses him.

The story begins awkwardly. Apparently Ziegler's been conning a woman out of her jewels and she comes to his hotel room to confront him. Now this is a cliche I really hate, as I've seen it in many TV cop and detective shows. What I am talking about is when a victim realizes they've been robbed and instead of going to the police or confronting the person in front of many witnesses, they confront him privately...telling the guy they're going to the police! Now what would you expect a criminal to do in a case like this? Yes, they'd try to kill you...immediately!! And, that's exactly what he tries to do...though she fortunately escapes. Now, this is a silly confrontation....one that the episode would use AGAIN later in the show! Awkward and unrealistic....which is a shame as the rest of the show, apart from the confrontation scenes, is great. Whitman is smooth and great at playing an evil man...and it's still worth seeing because of this.
