"You're not married, you don't have a girlfriend... and you've never
watched Star Trek!" Patrick Stewart is guest starring in this episode.
I'm glad that Gervais didn't get Jude Law, who was originally supposed
to be in it. Even more that he didn't get Leonardo DiCaprio. Because 1)
Patrick Stewart is awesome perv in this 2) the DVD extras include fun
clips of Gervais trying to get phone contact to Leo, but can't quite
Every scene with Patrick is great, his idea for screenplay and Star Trek stuff. Gervais' character also has finally made a screenplay that the people at BBC have accepted. Now he's put to work with this "too gay" guy at BBC, and they're planning the pilot episode. Can he handle the situation, without saying anything stupid at gays? Sure...
Possibly my second favorite episode of the Extra's 1st season, just after the Kate Winslet episode.
Andy might be finally be getting somewhere with his sitcom idea and it
is all courtesy of Patrick Stewart who makes a cameo appearance.
Andy is an extra in a film that stars Patrick Stewart and gets to talk to him on his trailer, where Stewart has an idea for a movie where he sees all the women as naked. Stewart's production company has also recommended Andy's sitcom to the BBC.
However the producer assigned to Andy to work on the script is irritatingly camp and Maggie might had put her foot in it by telling the producer that Andy thinks he is too gay.
Stewart is a hoot as the pervy actor, we also get the set up for series 2 with the sitcom idea. Nice to see Andy's agent trying to do a last grasp deal for Barry from Eastenders to star in Andy's sitcom.
