Quotes

Les Dennis: [Andy is trying not to look at a naked Les Dennis who is drying himself off with a towel in front of him] She likes to video us. And watch it back together. Sometimes I can't believe it's my ass going up and down. I'm getting exited just thinking about it.
Andy Millman: Well, think about something else then!

Les Dennis
10 February 2017 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

In my younger days I used to have a summer job in a seaside resort that has several variety type theatres and Les Dennis popped in several times for a quiet drink with his friends. He was a contrast to someone like Frank Carson whose batteries never ran out and would never be far away from a joke or a one liner.

In this episode Les Dennis plays the depressed star, whose best days are behind him and still unlucky in love. Andy meanwhile steps away from the camera as an Extra and gets a role as the genie in a pantomime where Dennis is the star.

The late Scottish panto legend Gerard Kelly plays the camp director Bunny whose daughter also an actress in the panto is an old acquaintance of Maggie. She actually clings to Maggie as it becomes clear she has no friends of her own age and very much controlled by her parents.

All kudos to Dennis for baring his soul and body but also we get to see Andy actually act as he plays the camp genie. Excruciating and funny at the same time but so well balanced.
