"Everybody Loves Raymond" Pilot (TV Episode 1996) Poster

(TV Series)

(1996)

Trivia

The pilot originally had no opening title sequence and it wasn't until it was about to be submitted when the production found out that a title sequence for a sitcom was mandatory. So, scrambling at the last minute, they impulsively bought a plastic children's jungle gym and filmed Ray Romano assembling it and adlibbing lines about himself.

This is one of two episodes in which Frank (Peter Boyle) refers to Ray (Ray Romano) as "Raymond". In all the other episodes he calls him something else (i.e. Ray, Raymondo, Mary etc.). The other episode is Everybody Loves Raymond: The Thought That Counts (2002).
