Storyline

After several delays, the Enterprise crew gets some well-deserved shore leave on the famed pleasure planet Risa. Commander Tucker and Lieutenant Reed eagerly seek out female companionship, only to fall into a tourist trap. Captain Archer meets an attractive female who seems to be more interested in his knowledge of the Suliban than his companionship. Hoshi Sato meets a fellow vacationer and they share more than each other's native languages. Doctor Phlox takes the opportunity to hibernate, only to be rudely awakened when Mayweather needs medical treatment. Written by Meribor

Trivia

The two dogs in this episode, Prada (Porthos) and Tibbis (Rhylo), had actually worked together before, as spy partners in the movie Cats & Dogs (2001). This episode was also Prada's last episode. Breezy the Beagle, who was a stand-in for Prada when a more "spunky" Porthos was needed, took over the role completely from that point on. See more »

Goofs

After injecting Travis with the antidote for his allergic reaction to the Risan drug, Phlox unceremoniously leaves the hypospray on Travis's chest. When the camera angle changes, the hypospray is nowhere to be found. See more »

Quotes

[Tucker and Reed are on Risa looking for potential female companions]
Commander Charles 'Trip' Tucker III: What about that one?
Lieutenant Malcolm Reed: [scoffs] Now I know you've been cooped up on a starship for too long.
Commander Charles 'Trip' Tucker III: Now, what's wrong with her?
Lieutenant Malcolm Reed: Well, nothing, I suppose. I just wouldn't know which eyes to look into.
[they laugh]
Lieutenant Malcolm Reed: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! Now, *she's* interesting.
Commander Charles 'Trip' Tucker III: I don't think 'she' is the right pronoun. Hm? But if you think it's worth the risk...
Lieutenant Malcolm Reed: I don't know, maybe I should've brought my scanner with me.

Like an order of really crappy meatballs....
24 March 2015 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

I love meatballs. But I find that I am often apprehensive ordering them when I eat out because too often the places selling them are cheapskates and fill them with bread and other fillers. A bit of bread is just fine but too much and you have a tasteless, bland product. Well, to me, "Two Days and Two Nights" is just like an order of bad meatballs--all filler and no real substance.

The show is set during shore leave on Risa. Oddly, apparently 1/2 the crew are picked by lottery to go to Risa--and the ones who were 'randomly picked' were all the human main characters on the show. There, they all have a series of relatively boring adventures which do nothing to further the show's overarching plot. Trip and Reed go out in search of sex, Hoshi meets a nice guy and the Captain is really dumb in how he confronts a lady who is a spy. All in all, I cannot see much to the show. It's not really bad but it is a bit of a waste of time and talent.
