Storyline

Commander William Riker has heard his former ship Pegasus, wrecked, has presumably been found by Romulans and Starfleet wants to excavate the ship before they do. Something seems to bother him however. He asks counselor Deanna Troi to help. She advises him to open Enterprise' last mission in the holodeck. Riker follows the events and takes over chef's character to learn more insights. Enterprise, meanwhile, is making its last flight through space. Captain Archer is on its way to Earth to give a speech at the signing of the charter that will finally mark the beginning of an alliance between a host of alien races. Then he is suddenly contacted by the presumed dead Andorian Shran, who asks for one last favor. His daughter is kidnapped and he wants Enterprise to help liberate her. Trivia

Several references are made to Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the engine room, Trip tells Reed that he never thought their time on Enterprise would end. Reed responds by saying, "All good things...". This was the title of the series finale for TNG. Also, in Archer's cabin, Trip and Archer are enjoying a sip of whiskey, and Archer raises his glass and says, "Here's to the next generation." See more »

Goofs

At the beginning of this episode, Riker can be seen twice in Ten Foward, since Jonathan Frakes in 2005 was digitally inserted into a shot from Star Trek: The Next Generation: Ménage à Troi. See more »

Quotes

Dr. Phlox (hologram): I wouldn't be surprised if this alliance begins to expand before we know it. You should be very proud of yourself, Captain.
Capt. Jonathan Archer (hologr.): I'll be proud of myself if I get this speech out in one piece.
Dr. Phlox (hologram): That's not what I meant.
Capt. Jonathan Archer (hologr.): I know what you meant, Phlox. And I appreciate it. But this is not about me.
Commander T'Pol (hologram): Why do so many Humans refuse to take credit where credit is due? There are times when modesty and humility are quite illogical.

What An Insult...

All I can say about this finale is that it was complete and utter trash. Bringing in Troi and Riker was a mistake of monumental proportions. Not to mention having two "ledgends" on the show stole the thunder from the cast of the Enterprise.

I have heard that Jolene ( T'Pol ) has stated that the final episode of Enterprise is "total crap" and that she was embarrassed to be a part of it, this is an opinion that is shared by both Scott Bakula and Connor Trinneer.

Personally I think Braga's comment about this episode as being a " Valentine to the fans" is total B.S. and he can shove his Valentine where the sun don't shine.

In a word... SHAMEFUL!!!!
