When discussing the larva, Phlox repeatedly uses the word "larvae" in conjunction with the pronoun "it". "Larvae" is the plural form of the noun. A doctor should know this.

Factual errors

According to Lt. Reed, the shuttle pod engines are above critical while exerting a force of 2500 kilodynes. Unless there was an unmentioned redefinition of the "dyne", a unit of force in the cgs-system, 2500 kdyn are equivalent to 25 Newton, which is approximately the gravity force of a mass of 2.5 kg on earth - something everybody can exert quite easily using a single finger.
