- During a drill using sulfur trioxide, a fireman is injured and Roy is exposed to the toxic fumes. Dixie shows an ad to John and Roy about someone wanting to buy an old fire engine just like theirs, later they help a man who injures his back doing stunts on his motorcycle. Dixie and Dr. Morton treat a boy with a sore throat while his mother begs for an antibiotic--turns out the boy has something even more serious than either thought. The firemen help a man who has a heart attack at the station, and the Coast Guard (CG 1442) medivac's the paramedics to rescue a man who fell off a cliff on Catalina Island.—Gary Richard Collins II (brothergaryii@gmail.com)
- The Firefighter mantra is to take it easy, the art of doing what one knows in the face of mass inanity. During a session with the 116s on avoiding the dangers of sulfur trioxide (which hospitalized a guy in 12s) Chet, Johnny and Roy joke with Squad 116 FF Joe Bailey about the recent prank 51 and Chet's sister played on 116. Dixie tells Johnny and Roy about an ad where a man is looking to buy a vintage fire engine. The guys treat a minor motorcycle injury; a mother with attitude challenges Dr. Morton when he refuses to prescribe antibiotics for her small son, who seems to have a virus. A young lady brings her father, who is having chest pains, to Station 51 and concludes the PMs are 'really something.' Dr. Brackett and Dr. Early teach the mantra to Dr. Morton when his young "virus" case and mother return to Rampart. The Coast Guard 1447 assists Johnny and Roy in a late afternoon rescue of a man near the Catalina cliffs at high tide. Station 51 has a strange visitor. Finally, Johnny and Roy must learn to practice their own mantra when Karma bites them right in the wallet.—LA-Lawyer
