During a practice bout, a lucky shot knocks champion boxer Kid Hogan unconscious. He revives enough to sip some water from his manager's "swill bottle," then falls comatose and is soon pronounced dead. An autopsy reveals he was poisoned, and the "swill bottle" was loaded with poison. The manager is strongly implicated, but so is the opponent Joe Simpson. Written by
Did You Know?
Kid Hogan's weight is never given, but given his size, he is either a heavyweight or a light heavyweight. If so, the "Champ" he's supposed to fight would be either Joe Louis
(heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1949) or Gus Lesnevich
(light heavyweight champion from 1941 to 1948). See more
Now, Flannigan's picture and the way my dad pours milk in the coffee gave me the answer. Was it Joe Adams? Was it Sam Hatter? Was it Doc Sanford or Melinda Sanford? Or Eddie? Or was it someone else?
