heart wrenching

Warning: Spoilers
I missed ER the year that they went to the Congo, so I'm catching up on the show pretty late. This episode was particularly heart wrenching. My favorite part was Luka looking around at the moment before he is to die and becoming overwhelmed in the moment...i think things must have become crystal clear in that moment, what a way to find your way back to God. Great actors, great episode. I'm sure I have to see upcoming episodes to understand why carter chose to stay, yes I understand the moral aspect, but maybe the woman has something to do with it too? It's no wonder this is one of the longest running shows on TV .

I think its crazy that IMDb is making me type ten lines of text in order to past a comment? I have to sit here and make up something or just babble to make up a minimum word count. too silly.

One of the best episodes of an outstanding show

I It's not your usual episode. It doesn't take place in the ER, or even in the US. But it really gives Goran Visnjic the opportunity to show us the pain that Luka has been trying to bury. And it gives him the chance to see, under the worst circumstances imaginable, that his life is worth living.

The Lost (#10.2)

I have even trouble to say what I think of the episode. On one hand I like how they build it up by making us think Luka is dead and then showed step by step how he ended up surviving. But then there were a few parts which made it a bit annoying.

For once I don't like that female character from Canada. Hate it when they have such overemotional women. She was always getting hysterical and crying. For a guy she barely knew and just jumped into his bed for a month. If Carter could control himself then why wouldn't she. And did she think about anything but men? Even in that situation telling Debbie to hook up with Carter.

Making Luka the hero for not wanting medicine when very sick was pretty stupid, yes doctor die so they have nobody to treat them, how noble. And I had a feeling they wanted to contrast the geologist from him by making that other guy to look weaker because he wanted to live. Oh how horrible of him.

I kind of thought that the cross will play some role later when the woman gave it to Luka. But this whole praying scene just made me laugh.

I give this episode points for a good build up, but now I kind of hope they stick to the hospital, they are creating better episodes in that setting.

Very heavy

Warning: Spoilers
This episode isn't the usual ER vibe. Yes, there's death in the ER, but this is entirely different death. It's politically motivated, execution-style, completely unsanitised compared to County General.

But it's also the white saviour trope. Rich, white, saviour.

Fast Forward or Skip

I don't appreciate political episodes in my medical dramas. If you do, you'll enjoy this ep. I skip it when streaming. Totally not worth it. All the Congo episodes are skip worthy.
