Storyline

John Carter returns to the Congo to retrieve Luka Kovac's body. He finds however that the area where was killed is still too dangerous to enter. He and Gillian finally manage to hitch a ride with a Red Cross worker, Debbie, who is going to the area. In flashbacks, we learn how Kovac and his fellow aid workers were taken prisoner by rebel troops. They are shot, one at a time, until only Luka is left. Amid the destruction of the eastern Congo, we learn his fate. Carter also makes a fateful decision. Written by garykmcd

The Lost (#10.2)
15 April 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

I have even trouble to say what I think of the episode. On one hand I like how they build it up by making us think Luka is dead and then showed step by step how he ended up surviving. But then there were a few parts which made it a bit annoying.

For once I don't like that female character from Canada. Hate it when they have such overemotional women. She was always getting hysterical and crying. For a guy she barely knew and just jumped into his bed for a month. If Carter could control himself then why wouldn't she. And did she think about anything but men? Even in that situation telling Debbie to hook up with Carter.

Making Luka the hero for not wanting medicine when very sick was pretty stupid, yes doctor die so they have nobody to treat them, how noble. And I had a feeling they wanted to contrast the geologist from him by making that other guy to look weaker because he wanted to live. Oh how horrible of him.

I kind of thought that the cross will play some role later when the woman gave it to Luka. But this whole praying scene just made me laugh.

I give this episode points for a good build up, but now I kind of hope they stick to the hospital, they are creating better episodes in that setting.
