Joan Collins might have, but Alexis wouldn't ever!

Climbing on the back of a motorcycle, that is.

This episode steers off course IMO because:

(1) Much time is spent on those outsider characters, the Deverauxs. Let's face it, they're not really part of the main story, they would not have made it as a spin-off, so they end up just wasting time. That said, Troy Beyer is better than the blonde schoolgirl the show had in #1.

(2) I of course do not like this empty rich-boy scheming gadfly who's new on the scene and after Alexis to fund his aviation dreams. He clearly sounds like he's speaking with a forked tongue, and a Dex he is obviously not, so Alexis carrying on after him only serves to bring down her image. I'm not faulting the Riding Through The Danger Zone idea, but that little bantam-weight peacock...

(3) Okay, so it WAS necessary, but all that graveside business... Well, at least, Cassie Yates can go home now.

(4) Heather Locklear underperforms in that second scene. Ooh terribly. Most terribly. The teary-eyed close-up salvaged it somewhat, but that frumpy bit preceding it. Ugh no! I'd have taken her aside, quietly whispering "deleting it, dear, we try again later this afternoon."

(5) and little baby darling Jessica Player, who has become so popular, it's not a DYNASTY #7 episode without you, sweet kid!

If Ben is to continue appearing, he shouldn't be such a wet cloth. Ben was a cardboard bad guy, but at least he had teeth, but now all of a sudden, just a wimpy shadow. Shape him up or ship him out!

The ominous way the episode ends foreshadows what could be expected with next week's season finale.
