Quotes

Steven Carrington: [on the subject of having moved out with Danny] Why aren't you more concerned with why I did it?
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: All right, why?
Steven Carrington: Because with my father and Krystle moving out and my mother moving in, he's confused, Sammy Jo, very confused.
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Well, he wouldn't be confused at all if he were with me at Delta Rho.
Steven Carrington: Oh, that would be a great environment for him, a stud farm. He could learn about the facts of life. Watch the breeding process as demonstrated by you and Clay Fallmont.
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [catty] Well, at least he would see ...

Not as good as I had hoped, not after the very promising display during the square-off between fiery young Sammy Jo and devious old Alexis in the previous episode. Soft target, hell, very, very soft target, Steven, becomes easy meat for Sammy Jo to maul. Aw, come on, that's child's play, a little girl can do that. Notice, though, that Sammy Jo has her regrets instantly. Unfortunately, I have to point out, Heather Locklear wasn't at her best during these scenes, the makeup too heavy. The mid- episode swimming pool scene, now there's another story, wow, I've been a Heather Locklear fan for decades!!

Some loose thoughts:

Old news, but couldn't help noticing Jackie there in the hospital is the only person to be shocked by Claudia's death, mostly because she witnessed it firsthand. Nobody in the family mentions Claudia. Not even Krystal. Actually, that's a grade-A goof, cause surely Krystal should have been shown to weep for poor old misunderstood eternal victim Claudia...

Alexis is shown to be off on a whim believing Blake is actually guilty. Yeah, a fine newspaper tycoon she'd make. In real life, instant slander case, seriously harming the newspaper, a millions-of-dollars investment, but, no, old Alexis goes on in her over-the-top way...

Get rid of Karen Cellini. Get rid of Wayne Northrop. Post haste please. They make my pet hate Diahann Carroll look positively brilliant.

Let's face it. The ship has sunk, struck rock bottom, just like I said at the beginning of this season. Nothing has changed. One character and one character only is still vibrant - Sammy Jo Carrington. The others have had their time and should have been laid to rest.

I have no doubt though that there will still be quite a few scenes that are very much fun. In between others that I will staunchly continue to criticize.
