Well, this one is hard to forget!!
29 November 2009 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

I saw this episode of "Dragnet" when it debuted, and while I was only a little kid, it stuck in my mind--and I'm sure if you see it, you'll understand why!

Friday and Gannon are stumped. They've been investigating a string of brilliantly conceived burglaries. The crooks are able to bypass alarm systems and it's obvious that in most ways they are pros. However, inexplicably, what they steal sometimes makes little sense. For example, in one burglary, they steal various chemicals (albeit, some dangerous ones) and in another they steal an empty safe! So the men go on some stakeouts to try to nab the burglars. Eventually, they discover the culprits but they are just a couple of stooges working for "Brains"--the brilliant mind behind the crimes. I'd love to say more, but it would ruin the show.

Excellent and very difficult to predict writing set this show apart. If we can trust Jack Webb (and I sure do), the crimes on this show are based on real honest-to-goodness cases...though this strange episode sure makes me wonder. It's almost too strange and too impossible!! Give it a look--you won't forget it.
