Such a wonderful show

I may be biased as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman is one of my very favorite shows of all time and I can't count the number of times I have seen each episode. I just watched this episode again after not seeing it in several years and I had forgotten how great it is. I was so surprised to see the other review here giving it a one-word review - "Terrible" - and decided I wanted to write my own review to balance-out that questionable review. I loved that the writers gave the spotlight to a very inspirational older woman who definitely marched to the beat of her own drums and for the time period this show is set, went against the "norms" for women but was an inspiration for the younger people in town, especially the girls. Evidently this episode took as an inspiration a true story of a young woman who climbed Pikes Peak. Also, to me the most heartwarming part of this episode was at the end when both the sadness and beauty of life was shown in such a moving way - The "sadness" of the end of a life and the "beauty" of the beginning of life and how they were intertwined in this episode and happened at the same time. It was special. There really isn't a bad episode in this series, but this is one of the better ones, at least to me.

Terrible

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is terrible and demonstrates how bad a doctor, Dr. Mike is. This whole thing about getting so worked up with Sam is basically all about her mom. So she leaves a real patient that is pregnant to chase a woman she hardly knows up a mountain that she is NOT equipped to climb at all. The plat of the episode is STUPID.
