Doris receives a surprise telegram from Maggie Wells, her ex-employer from New York City, she the editor of Ladies World magazine. She wants Doris for a four day job to work on a story about charity fraud as it was a story on which she did research before she left. Doris gratefully declines, not wanting to leave Buck or the boys. But when Maggie personally makes a visit to ask again, Doris, after seeing that Buck and the boys seem to be able to do without her for a few days, agrees. After those four days are done, Doris is not surprised that Maggie asks her to return permanently - this move which was always Maggie's longer term goal - but Doris, who has no intention of returning, is surprised that she doesn't immediately say no. Maggie believes she has to do some behind the scenes maneuvering to get what she wants. Written by Huggo
