The Ultimate Collection DVD is missing the a capella segment ("Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?"), the "Pee Wee's Playhouse" performance of "Hey, Good Lookin'," and Dolly's 6-word excerpt of "Summertime" from the "Porgy and Bess" skit.
When Dolly Parton made her inaugural appearance on Oprah Winfrey's talk show in April 1987, Dolly asked Oprah to guest on this forthcoming variety show and Oprah immediately accepted. During the same interview, Parton remarked that she'd love to work with Dudley Moore, who also materialized in this episode.
In a promotional push for his show Buck James (1987), which followed "Dolly" on the schedule, Dennis Weaver was originally supposed to appear as Dolly's date. Ultimately, his scene was cut and replaced by a new segment with Dudley Moore, who was a bigger star. Weaver's name appeared in early press and a bunch of photos from his scene were released.
