This one tops them all

Out of all the Prince and the Pauper movies made, this one has the looks that's most authentic to the story.

The atmosphere of this movie is supreme, and the actors are also the best. Sean Scully is the prince and the pauper. He trades places, prince wanting to get out of his stuffy world, and the pauper of course looking to a better life. Each of them finds that they don't fit in to the other's world, but gets a meaningful lesson in life. No one notices the exchange, and problem ensues especially for the pauper because he doesn't know all the rules of the palace.

Sean Scully really carries the movie. He's believable as both characters. There's also young Jane Asher in this movie who in few years will be living in the same house with Paul McCartney.

This movie has never been seen on the video circuit, and if you have a VHS copy from one of the broadcasts, you have a rare gem in your hand.

There's been other versions of this movie, but this one tops them all.
