Unnecessary, but high on action
27 January 2015 | by See all my reviews

This episode is certainly different from the others in this arc, and packs a relatively sharp emotional punch near the end with actual death. Much of the focus is on Matt and T.K. pursuing Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon, who have become rather endearing characters despite their brief appearances; the battle between Myotismon and Weregarurumon is really neat and gives the former a chance to make up for his earlier cheesiness. Plus, seeing Angemon for the first time in a while adds to the excitement. However, there was one thing that really bothered me here. This episode opens implying that there will be a further exploration of Matt and T.K.'s lives, but ultimately ends up adding nothing to that and to top it all off T.K.'s argument with Patamon is really uncalled for and unnecessary. This one really is of average quality, but the memorable final 5 minutes or so earns it a recommendation.
