Just as Drummond is about to adopt the boys, a man shows up claiming to be a relative. When he learns about the adoption he freaks out. He later returns with a lawyer who says he has a letter from the boys' father saying he's suppose to be their guardian. What they don't know is that the man is trying to get them because they stand to inherit a large sum of money. Written by

to return to NBC playing Fred Sanford, after leaving Sanford and Son
(1972) two and a half years earlier - in fact, the TV Guide description for the show lists Foxx as playing Fred. He didn't, and the role was hurriedly rewritten and recast (the shows were postponed for a few weeks). However, Foxx did agree to return to the Fred Sanford role in the "Sanford" series a few months later. See more
