- Sam is kidnapped by a man whose son has recently passed away. The man believes he can replace his lost son with Sam and help his grieving wife. A desperate Drummond places an ad in the newspaper, only to be conned by a person who claims to have kidnapped Sam but really only wants to extort the "ransom" money and flee: an undercover cop posing as a bum busts him, and we're back to square one. Sam manages to call home during an odd moment when he isn't being watched, and an alert Arnold asks him for the phone number (always stamped on the phone company-owned phones in the '70s), which he takes down and gives to the police. Shortly thereafter, police storm the Westchester County home of the kidnappers and, despite Sam's pleas for their merciful treatment, the police lead them off as Sam is reunited with an overjoyed Drummond.
