In real life Carl Reiner was not reluctant to admit he wore a hairpiece. Unlike a number of other actors who were reluctant to do so, Reiner would often appear bald in public. It was his practice to wear one when he was acting, but if he were making a public appearance, such as on a talk show or for an interview, he would always appear without his hairpiece.
In 1997, the TV Guide ranked this episode number 8 on its "100 Greatest Episodes of All Time" list.
This episode and the episode October Eve, which also had been colorized, were shown together on CBS-TV July 3, 2020 as part of a tribute to Carl Reiner, who died four days before at age 98. The 2020 show opened with an introduction and tribute from Dick van Dyke, at the time 94 years old himself.
