When Stephanie Zimbalist as Inspector Churchill is asking the tobacco shop owner for information about a man who smokes Cuban cigars she offers him a $1000 bill with President Cleveland on it. She tears it in half, writes her phone number on it and in a later scene gives the tobacconist the other half after he gives her the information she is looking for. A Grover Cleveland $1000 bill was worth about $1400 in 1999 when this episode was filmed. Tearing and writing on it would substantially reduce its value. See more
