"Voted off the show", 4 July 2006
Author: Christopher Mulrooney from Los Angeles

A poison device from Lewis Gilbert's You Only Live Twice is borrowed by a girl on a "reality TV show", Hot House, to eliminate a man already unpopular with the other participants and in fact about to be "voted off the show". He's in the midst of a divorce and has placed his assets for safekeeping in the heel of his shoe, as diamonds.

Dr. Sloan takes his place on the show, contacted by a medical student via the closed-circuit confessional booths where disgruntlements are taped. This lad is having an affair with a woman of his mother's age, who went on the show with this purpose in mind. "You'd be surprised how many successful marriages there are between a younger man and an older woman," observes Dr. Sloan.
