After a single party night, she finds Greg up making an elaborate breakfast and miserable without somewhere to 'wear his work underwear', so she convinces him to practice cooking, which he obviously enjoys, as his professional calling, even if he must start as fry-cook in a measly hamburger joint which even Pete considers beneath a lawyer. - Greg's latest legal victory leaves him depressed in the middle of the office celebration. He puts criminals away, but they are back on the streets in 18 months or less, so Dharma suggests that maybe Greg should quit and "follow his bliss." Greg feels that he has been climbing a mountain all his life and now he is at the top and can see that he has been climbing the wrong mountain.
Greg agrees with Dharma and just walks out of his office, while announcing to his colleagues that this job has been slowly sucking the life out of him. Greg throws a big party at home. Abby and Larry are happy that Greg is free from "corporate America". Greg gives away his suits. Abby suggests that since Greg is free of all the negative Karma, Dharma and Greg should try and have a baby together.
Greg wakes up the next day and cooks' breakfast for Dharma. Greg is an excellent cook. But very soon he panics and tells Dharma that he needs a job. Dharma says that Greg needs a vacation, but Greg says that unemployed people do not need a vacation, they need a job.
Dharma talks to Greg and helps him figure out what he really enjoys in life. Greg says that he always wanted to be a lawyer, but he also a good cook. Dharma makes Greg realize that cooking food for people all day would make him happy. Greg approaches a few restaurants to find himself a job as a cook. Restaurant owners find it suspicious that a US attorney wants to be a cook at their restaurant.
It turns out that Greg's suppressed passion is for cooking, so he informs his disturbed parents. They were negotiating a Partner role for him at the biggest law firms in USA. Greg says that he is starting a new career as a short-order cook in a hamburger joint. Kitty blames Dharma.
Abby and Larry visit the diner where Greg is employed as a chef. They love his cooking. Kitty sends Edward to talk to Greg. Instead, Greg asks Edward what he would do if he didn't have to worry about money or responsibilities. This prompts Edward to confession his own secret talent: hairdressing. Edward says that hair is all about shape and symmetry.
Kitty confronts Dharma and wants her to put things back, the way they were. She says she has sacrificed too much to give it all away. Edward is cutting hair and Greg is flipping burgers. Kitty says that being a Montgomery is a tremendous responsibility. The family shapes policies and employs thousands of people. As Montgomery women, it is their job to protect and pass on this legacy. But Dharma argues that she wants to see Greg happy. Dharma guesses that Kitty wanted to be a dancer as a little girl. Dharma says that she wants everyone to be happy in her family and she does not care what work they do, so long as they have a smile on their face.
But suddenly Greg realizes that he is working at a cheesy diner and quits. Greg asks for his job back.
