Not the same, but not a disaster either.

Warning: Spoilers
There's a bird on the head of new partner Alison Sugarbaker (Julia Duffy) according to Julia who has had enough of her obnoxiousness 10 minutes into Alison's arrival. Not only does she get victimized by erotic dancer but she gets the Rusty treatment too with the shot of the great American crack problem. Alison is Julia and Suzanne's cousin, having purchased Suzanne's shares of Sugarbaker's, and her arrival is trumpeted by the arrival of her huge desk which would be more appropriate at Mount Vernon or Versailles. There's also Charlene sister, Carlene. (jan Hooks) who shows up for a visit and remains no. It's the last episode for Jean Smart as it is mentioned that she's off to England with Bill to meet the queen, and apparently remains there. It's not the strongest explanation for her departure, but it's what we got. It's a shame, because Charlene had so much potential for great story as a new mother.

"Allison, just so you know, next time you speak to me in that tone of voice, you're going to the moon", and she gets the moon when they have Rusty check on a plug right in view of her. She gets a great termination from Julia which reveals the truth about her situation and past, including what she was to do for a living which is hysterical. It's ironic too that her lying it includes a mention of the upcoming wedding of an overrated businessman and his second wife. This pwas the opening to the highest rated season in the show's history, and is very funny. Duffy is very good, and Hooks very funny, with a hysterical twist involving the desk which will soon be gone. All in all, Alison wasn't a badly written character, but probably could have been toned down. Of course, this is now part of my permanent review record, and I also just wanted to comment on the Great inclusion of Ray Charles in the show's opening credits for a beautiful rendition of "Georgia on My Mind".

Bye Charlene, Bye Suzanne, Bye Viewers

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, just stop watching at this point. With Delta Burke and Jean Smart gone, the cast chemistry dies. The writers tried to copy Anthony and Suzanne's love-hate relationship with Anthony and Allison, but it's so hostile and cringey. Mary Jo and Julia take a backseat to the other three and there's no comedy that has never been done before. The writing also becomes utterly stale. I loved the show the first few seasons, and man I'm disappointed.
