Noel returns in this episode which focuses on Suzanne's desire to join an uppity country club that Julia has no interest in applying for membership for. With names like Biddy and Muffin, it's obvious what kinds of people Suzanne's dealing with, especially when Muffin declares, "My grandmother was a Muffin. My mother was a Muffin, and I'm a Muffin too." Anthony has a great moment when one of the snooty people interviewing Suzanne and Julia ask him if he's related to Jacqueline Bouvier. His response is one of Anthony's greatest lines in the series.
The twisting the story occurs when they offer a membership to Julia and not Suzanne. This gives Dixie Carter another chance to tell off a group of snobs or uppity people because of their rejection of Suzanne. How she tries to deal with when telling Suzanne is very tender, getting herself into trouble with her sister briefly but ultimately with Suzanne coming to the realization that Julia did the right thing. This really puts a nice slam on uppity organizations like this particular country club, and fortunately, it does make an impact on the people that Julia terminates.
