Starting with this episode the opening title sequence is scraped. In its place the show opens with the Designing Women title card with an instrumental version of the theme song being played. Immediately after that the show goes into its first act where the stars names are displayed while the act is being performed. The scrapping of opening titles, which was something that was pioneered by the CBS sitcom Murphy Brown, would become the norm for must sitcoms by the end of the 90's.
Bonnie Jean Poteet, the Sugarbakers design firm's new partner, is introduced. "B.J." bought her mansion (with its fully-equipped BDSM dungeon) from the Roscoe Baileys, friends ("repulsive friends" according to Julia) of the firm's former partner Suzanne Sugarbaker.
