Goofs

A man states that he detected raised level of the HCG in blood, and that it "sometimes occurs in males in their late twenties". The HCG - which he properly identifies as human chorionic gonadotropin - is produced only by the placenta ("chorion" in Greek - hence the name), and therefore is an indication of the pregnancy (all home-use pregnancy tests detect HCG in urine, while laboratory pregnancy tests detect it in blood) - recent studies show that it may also be a cancer marker in some rare types of uterine cancers. Needless to say, at the present level of science it is not possible that a male body would produce HCG - men do not have uteruses, and cannot get pregnant. See more »
