Ernest Bristow offers to sell Charley his ailing brewery but lies about its prospects. Fortunately business-like Mariette obtains the true figures from foreman Tom, enabling Charley to buy at a knock-down price. Pop returns the twins to Brockhurst College, only to find it in danger of closing since so many repairs need doing. Having learned that his roofers may have stolen their tiles from the Council, Pop leans on them to do the repairs for nothing with the girls and the Larkins lending a hand. The school is saved whilst Primrose celebrates a 'grown-up' sixteenth birthday meal with her Tony. Written by don @ minifie-1

I've not been that much impressed with the very basic performance kinda snooty Catherine Zeta Jones gave prior to this two-parter, but in "The Happiest Days Of Your Life" she is at least back to the level of at the start of the show.

Ever the moaner, I will also never stop complaining about the loss of the first Primrose. Abigail Rokison is too vastly different from the original smart choice, and watching Part 2, I wondered about the difference in style, how much different the approach would have been. But like I said last time, better this Primrose than no Primrose.

David Jason gets an A+ (his Churchill was bang-on!) and Pam Ferrer is of course one of a kind. The twins kinda work wonderfully when they mewl like kittens. And the little girl playing Victoria acts as the perfect foil for Primrose, inspiring me to post Quotes.

I don't normally watch this kind of WALTONS family fare. But...

Charming, charmingest!

And that comes from The Raven.
