Did You Know?

Pa Larkin mentions the M1 motorway in the previous episode. This places the action in 1959 or later. In this episode Edith Pilchester is seen getting off a train with 'third' clearly marked on the door. British Railways phased out third class travel in 1956. Furthermore it's clearly a newly painted maroon coach, a livery only introduced in 1956, few of which ever carried the 'third' designation. See more »

Primrose: I'm gonna go home. Tell Roger. Tell him I've gone home. To listen to the nightingales.

the one (two) with the pigs

The porky two-parter got saved for me in the second round by a good thing coming in a small package. Linsey Baxter (never heard of her) as Jasmine Brown. Oh, obviously the actress who used to be Angela Snow, Kika Mirylees, wasn't available, and Jasmine was hastily written in, kinda sloppy, but what else could they have done? But Linsey sure was up to it. Was quite fun to see ol' George get his come uppance. And that harridan of a wife of his! Good casting. Even if they manage to lose originals.

Yeah, the first part didn't do much for me. Still no Mariette and Charley in this part either, but that wasn't the problem. Abigail Rokison just isn't the Primrose of choice. I've seen the one that should have been... Julie Stichbury, and for me, there could never be any other. :(
