Quotes

Daria Morgendorffer: I don't think you've thought this through. What do you do with the hostages one you get to the airport?
Jane Lane: They're coming with me. We're talking party plane. All the way to Libya.
Helen Morgendorffer: [On the front porch, Daria and Jane can hear Helen on the phone] Rita, that's so wonderful. I'm so happy for you! You and Erin both.
Daria Morgendorffer: Ah, you'd better take a hike.
Jane Lane: Why?
Daria Morgendorffer: My mom's talking to my Aunt Rita. This isn't going to be pretty.
Jane Lane: Gotcha. Later, huh?
Daria Morgendorffer: That remains to be seen.

Wonderful
6 March 2011 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

This is one of the very best shows of the series and it's amazing that so many great episodes occurred at the beginning of season two. The show clearly was firing on all cylinders, so to speak.

The Morgendorffers are going to a wedding. It seems that Helen's niece is getting married and Helen insists her girls are bridesmaids. Then, once they arrive at the wedding, the full horror of the occasion becomes apparent. Helen and her sister (the mother of the bride) apparently have a long-standing rivalry and it bursts forth almost immediately. Then, out of the blue, the third sister--the outcast--arrives. This cool aunt is more like Daria and naturally is full of great quips and cynicism. She and Daria naturally hit it off. However, my favorite is Lerman--a very weird and Stephen Wright-like guy who is just plain weird. Sadly, this is the only episode with Lerman--as he would have been the perfect boyfriend for Daria.

The show is simply hilarious--exceptionally well-written and very funny. Plus, if you've ever been to some uncomfortable family get-togethers, this one will really make you laugh!
