I will admit that some of the plots to "Daria" are a bit contrived. No school takes kids on many of the weird outings that Lawndale does and no one does what Daria and Quinn do in this episode! Here is the ridiculous plot in a nutshell. An old camp where Daria and Quinn went once five years earlier is having a reunion(!). Daria hates the idea yet oddly goes. Quinn, on the other hand, loves the idea and goes as well. Now why would a crappy old summer camp have a reunion and why would Daria go?! This should have been told, if at all, as a flashback episode. As it was done, it just didn't work--even if I did enjoy what happened next.
As to what happened next, Daria is her usual miserable self but has a mini fan club--a girl who remembers Daria as a much more cool and nice person than she really was. This leads to a neat ending for Daria and especially this fan. As for Quinn, at first it's like her and the Fashion Club all over again--that is until Quinn says the wrong thing and, for once, has a less than happy ending.
Okay, but far from a great episode. It has its moments but the plot is pretty contrived.
