Quotes

Amelia: This reminds me of the time you boycotted the end of summer campfire by the lake. That was so cool.
Daria Morgendorffer: Actually, I wasn't invited.
Amelia: Oh.
[laughs]
Amelia: Remember the time you took of on your horse and left us all behind.
Daria Morgendorffer: You mean the horse ran off with me on it, and tossed me in the river, and I had to get nine stitches.

Back to camp
18 January 2013 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

When Daria and Quinn get invited to attend a reunion at Camp Grizzly Daria is not keen to go; it is only the threat of having to help clear out the garage that persuades her. They get a lift there with Trent and Jane because Trent has lost musical inspiration and thinks he may rediscover it in the country side. Once at the camp it becomes apparent that Daria wasn't as unpopular as she thought; she has a fan who found her an inspiration. Quinn meanwhile meets up with old friends who could almost be clones of the fashion club. While at the camp we see flashbacks as the girls talk about what happened when they were at the camp five years earlier. Elsewhere Jane and Trent visit a store where the owners try to ply them with their less than wonderful 'homemade' goods and back home Jake and Helen clear out the garage with Jake getting upset as he is reminded of numerous holidays they had to cancel because of Helen's work.

This episode had some pretty funny moments; Jake ranting is always a laugh and it was fun to see Quinn's time at camp not going according to plan when she lets slip about an indiscretion that happened on her last visit. Unfortunately Daria came across as being rather mean with her 'fan' Amelia... this did serve to make it more enjoyable when it was Amelia rather than Daria who stood up to an overenthusiastic camp leader. Jane and Trent's story had one or two laughs but felt like a distraction from the events at camp. Overall this episode had some good laughs; it may not be a classic but it was worth watching.
