In this episode, the Commissioner sends Steve Mitchell to Portugal to investigate an illegal political refugee racket. A fellow agent, Allen Prescott had been investigating the racket but is now missing. Steve meets with his contact in Portugal who has been beaten up and soon thereafter, he finds Prescott dead, hanging in a church's bell tower. The local police chief shows Steve the dead bodies of several refugees who had been murdered. After meeting with the girlfriend of one of the victims, Steve decides to go undercover pretending to be a refugee. His identity is discovered and he and the girlfriend are in danger but manage to escape from the criminals. There are a couple of tense moments in the show, but it is otherwise a pretty pedestrian, albeit somewhat sad, story. It is Brian Donlevy who makes this story so watchable. Oh, and the parrot was a nice touch.
