Storyline

In the subterranean passages of a ruined castle in Transjordan, built by the Crusaders in 1140, US agent Johnny Marshall has found a statuette of a goddess, which had been hidden there for centuries. The local robber chief Haba Bey wants to lay hands on the statuette, because he could use this as a sign to drive the crowds into a frenzy and an uprising, which will overthrow the government. Haba Bey captures Marshall and tortures him. US special agent Steve Mitchell is sent to the region to find and release Mitchell. Written by Maths Jesperson {maths.jesperson@bredband.net}

Convoluted tale about about the rediscovered statuette of an ancient goddess
6 September 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Mitchell is sent to the Near East to investigate the whereabouts of missing agent Johnny Marshall. Marshall knows where the statuette is and a local chief kidnaps him because he wants to use the statuette as a rallying symbol so the locals will rise and overthrow the government. Mitchell along with local agent Lt. Makem go undercover to investigate a woman archaeologist who may be in cahoots with the chief. Makem, played by Jim Davis is a really bad undercover agent for he wears a ring with his law enforcement's insignia on it and thus quickly gives himself away. Mitchell saves the day but nothing can save this silly episode. The plot is so dumb, it's laughable. That said, it was nice seeing the always reliable character actors Jim Davis and Lyle Talbot.
