Storyline

Aid from the International Monetary Fund is clearly not reaching its targets in an underdeveloped country. John Drake is sent to see who in the government is getting rich from the deal while the population continues to live in poverty. The death of the populist leader's son provides the perfect opportunity for Drake to probe around unsuspected. Written by Twenty Penguins

Despite lots of aid from the International Monetary Fund, a certain poor country continues to be poor. While money has been set aside for farm equipment and supplies, the country's food output stays low and the people miserable. It's assumed that SOMEONE is siphoning off funds for themselves instead of letting the money go to improvement programs in the country. It's Drake's job to investigate and plug that leak.

Aside from a chance to see Charles Gray as Zameda (and it's always a pleasure seeing him act), there isn't a lot to distinguish this particular episode. It is interesting that the IMF is specifically mentioned, but otherwise nothing really stands out in my mind about this one, though I did like Drake's glib comment at the end.
