Peace Sign
TheFearmakers16 September 2022
Another hippie episode involving protests, and it shows how little the audience they're catering to knows about the counter-culture since tough-but-hip Burt Reynolds's Dan August has to tell partner Norman Fell, here with a student narc played by his future Three's Company co-star John Ritter... Dan has to say what a peace sign means...

It's found in the head of a dead uptight university dean who's about to fire a beloved anarchistic history teacher played by the legendary Richard Basehart...

Most of the action and non-action questioning takes place on the university, and hippies had no idea they'd look so dated and comical years later: at least how they looked portrayed on television...

Pretty good episode with interesting twists, a few turns and some okay performances. And an actual car chase foreshadowing Burt's future... Starting out with Burt jumping onto the moving car he winds up chasing... More action than this series has seen yet.
