A truly great episode
5 January 2007 | by (Manchester) – See all my reviews

This episode of Dads Army was superb, one of the best.

The platoon are going on a expedition where live ammunition is going to be used. When the Colonel rings to give the number of a barn where the platoon have to go, a misunderstanding occurs and the number is wrong. When the van breaks down, the platoon has to march to where they're going, Godfrey and Jones have to stay behind. It just so happens that the place where the platoon have gone is a shooting target that is going to be blown to kingdom come. Jones finds out 1/2 hour before, but the phone lines have been cut off. There are two cars outside: Walkers old banger and the colonel's car. They will have to take them both to the platoon, they will need them both to get the whole platoon out of the barn in time. 2 people, 2 cars, sounds simple, but Godfrey can't drive. Will Jones and Godfrey get there in time.

A great episode from the fifth series. Well what do you expect from Britains greatest sitcom Best Bit: Mainwaring's overcoat burning
