- Da Vinci, Shannon, and Leary investigate an apparent suicide in the woods of an ex-convict released on day parole. Patricia starts her new job as a professor at the university. Sunny finds some interesting artifacts in historic Chinatown. Kosmo tries a new approach to an old unsolved case.—Anonymous
- Patricia, Sunny and Kosmo each start what look to be new long term assignments. Patricia starts a new concurrent job teaching at the University. After some dead bodies are found at a construction site, it is determined that it may be a historical archaeological site, the dig which is led in part by Sunny. And Kosmo starts her new assignment investigating a slew of missing prostitutes. Kosmo takes a special interest in an aboriginal prostitute that is found - unfortunately dead - named Queenie King. Leary, Shannon and Da Vinci investigate a decomposing hanging body found in Stanley Park. The body is that of Raymond Early, a halfway house resident out on day parole. Early signs indicate that he committed suicide. Shannon finds out that a Eugene Mason also went missing from the same halfway house a couple of days before Early, and that they obviously had a similar mission identified by the way they signed out: "gone fishing". Gina Otaviani of the Prisoner's Rights Council wants it ruled a death in custody and an inquest held since she believes he was killed. She pushes this agenda despite no concrete supporting evidence. The police eventually find Mason, who also believes Early was killed. Mason/Otaviani and Da Vinci/Shannon/Leary will just have to agree to disagree. One other as of now unanswered question is what Early did in the two months between the time he left the halfway house and when it was determined that he died. On a personal front, Da Vinci and Suzanne Reilly end their relationship bitterly.—Huggo
