Storyline

Douglas Cardy, head-teacher of a school for disabled children, stands accused of ill-treating one of his pupils - Tom Rigby, a fifteen year old with cerebral palsy. It is alleged he struck the boy after he turned on taps and flooded the school and then locked him in a bare room for nine hours. Cardy denies the charge and insists he punished the boy in a reasonable manner for the good of the whole school. Written by Alan Briscoe
