Treasure island
26 July 2014 | by See all my reviews

Karella, the queen of thieves we remember from earlier episodes, is chased by a general and his soldiers, but Conan saves her. They have to move on in a small boat across the sea to the mysterious Islands of Shadows. „I've heard strange things about these Islands of Shadows", Conan muses. „We've faced great dangers before, Conan", Karella encourages him. Just a little while later, when Otli escapes a deadly trap, Karella realizes: „We are not alone on this island..." They discover an ancient temple with statues – evil monks turned into stone! But they are wearing golden chains that look really tempting. „No man of honor steals from the dead", Conan insists. „I'm a woman", Karella reminds him, a quote that would suit Lara Croft. When Otli and Karella suddenly fall asleep, and Conan thinks: „There is something very wrong here", before he drops to the floor himself. Zzeben and Bayu are captured and tortured by Hissah Zul's soldiers who followed them to the island. Karella, Otli and Conan meet the guardian of the island who will decide their fate when the statues become alive... Great episode, we didn't have a mysterious treasure island before, classic fantasy adventure stuff.
