Cold Case at its best
6 September 2015 | by (London) – See all my reviews

There's nothing on TV like Cold Case anymore. I'm watching this episode 10.5 years after the original air date and it still stands up well. Incredibly touching and sad episode.

Everything that's good about Cold Case is at its peak here - the music, the sad stories, the character back stories.

I love how the writers are able to take seemingly horrible and cruel people and give realistic reasons why they act like they do. I felt absolutely outraged at the beating scene on the tracks. Later you discover that the attackers were actually acting out of good reason - the attackers girlfriend had been sexually assaulted. It transpires that the sexual assault never happened and the victim made a terrible choice due to societal pressures of sexual virtue.

We never get to find out what happens in sentencing in Cold Case, so the ending seems even crueler - that a desperate act of kindness leads to a murder charge.

9/10!
